Online Bible Study, Day 2 Scripture and Meditation

Today, the 20/20 challenge asks us to reflect upon our “family heritage” and how we treat the brothers and sisters God has placed in our lives by Betsi Moise

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27

DID YOU EVER WONDER WHY YOU LOOK THE WAY YOU DO?

We are reassured when we see the “family resemblance”; the nose, the hair or eye color, the shape of our hands and so on. All these attributes are physical manifestations of our genetic connection to parents, grandparents and beyond. How wonderful to know how connected we are!

BUT THERE IS MORE

iStock_000016814204XSmallEvery human being that has walked, is walking and will walk in the future over and around this Earth, (this home) is a unique, one-of-a-kind creation from our life-giving, loving and creative God. He has named all of us. He knows the numbers of hairs on our head, the color of our eyes, our gifts and our challenges. He placed each and every one of us where we are.

And there is the most important point: We were created in the image and likeness of God! Wow! We were made for God’s fellowship. It is why we long for Him, seek Him and require His presence in our lives. We hunger for our Creator God.

Look at all the people you see in a day. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM IS A LIKENESS OF GOD. The Academy Award winners, successful businessmen or political victors have nothing to give God over that of a homeless man, a drug-addict, an invalid or a child.

HE LOVES US ALL. Equally and unconditionally. Christ Jesus gave his life for ALL of humanity. Our sins are forgiven through Him.

Meditate today on how you can reflect the Forgiving Grace of Christ Jesus to all those you meet today. All of them are created in Gods own image. Can we treat everyone like family? Like we all belong to the family of God?

Dear Lord, Help me see everyone with YOUR eyes, not mine!
