20/20 Online Bible Study Day 20 Scripture and meditation

Thank you for taking the 20/20 challenge!

“Prepared for War” by Betsi Moise
How amazing these last 20 days have been! I hope and pray that you have gained a deeper knowledge of Scripture and spiritual strength to help you through the remainder of Lent.

LET US LOOK AT THE LAST 20 DAYS: WE ARE FAMILY, WE KNOW HE LOVES US:

We learned that we are made in the image of God; as Christians we are a part of His Kingdom. We need to understand our family responsibility in kinship with Jesus. “So they read from the Book of the Law of God distinctly, faithfully amplifying and giving the sense so that [the people] understood the reading”. And best of all, we learned how God Loves His family as we considered the Father keeping vigil, eyes peeled toward the horizon, looking for the return of the lost child.

WAR HAS BEEN DECLARED ON THE KINGDOM:

We examined the enemy. It became clear how to differentiate between the motion and the motive, so we do not fall prey to the snake in the grass. We know how important it is to recognize the pattern of the enemy.

cross_of_jesusOUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

Jesus the Christ. Our Commander wants us join Him, not in a “mandatory draft” but by hearing His quiet, gentle voice.

“And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, what seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.” John 1 37-39

UNDERSTANDING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ENLISTING:

We enlist with clean hearts, loving spirits and love for each other. We choose to “join the army”.

“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

WE PLEDGE OUR FEALTY:

“And hear the call to arms: Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! Isaiah 60:1

Through spiritual growth, we understand now what the battle is about and who the enemy is. Now the question is: How do we fight?

spiritwarWE ARE GIVEN WEAPONS FOR BATTLE:

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.” 2 Corinthians 10: 3-6

The enemy would have us believe that we have to conform to this world and do its bidding in order to be successful. There is a danger that we, as the church, “need to” conform to the will of the popular culture, in order to be “relevant” – which is what Satan would have you believe. We must know that popular culture is pretension and nothing more. Dust. When the enemy comes against you; model Christ – he will help us demolish every pretense and stronghold with scripture. Keep reading!
As we close the 20/20 Spiritual Vision Test, I hope that you have a enjoyed communion with our God, learned more of how He loves us and gained a deeper understanding of His purpose for our lives. Stay in scripture and pray without ceasing.

Beloved friends, I am so grateful for you and for the opportunity to share Scripture as we probed a little deeper into our spiritual walk together.

As we grow in spirit, may we come to be the hands and feet of Christ Jesus and bring the Good News to thirsty ears.
