Blooming Season
The weather has been gorgeous. We have been treated to plenty of sunshine and blue skies lately. And, the grass is growing like crazy and flowers are starting to bloom. Many of us are gardening again. Costco and Home Depot are packed with customers ready to load bags of potting soil and flowers into their cars. I love this time of year.
Spring me and Easter remind us that we are called to bloom spiritually. God has given us this resurrection power to bear beautiful fruit for God’s glory. Ideally, people would see the church (you and me) and see a spiritual Longwood Gardens. I’ve got work to do. Psalm 1 tells us that those who are rooted in the Word of God are like trees planted by streams of water which yield their fruit in season. Their leaves never wither. That’s what we are going to do every Sunday‐‐dig deep into the Word of God through the systema c study of doctrine. This is how we bloom. As we understand more about God and our faith, our affection for Christ and personal holiness blossom. Let’s get growing!
