The 2018-2019 Thursday Night Bible Study will explore the Books of Samuel.
Samuel was a contemporary of King Saul and King David. His parents (Elkanah and Hannah) dedicated Samuel to the Lord, giving him to the priest Eli to be raised in the temple. Samuel is portrayed as the last of the judges and the first of the prophets. Few people in the Bible were as obedient to God as Samuel.
We encourage our Bible Study participant to read the selected chapters before class. Here is a link to BibleGateway where you can access the books of Samuel online.

From September through December, we will study 1 Samuel, continuing with 2 Samuel in 2019. The 2018 schedule is a follows:
- November 8: Samuel meets Saul, 1 Sam. 9
- November 15: Early successes and later failures of King Saul, 1 Sam. 11:1 – 15:9
- November 29: Saul and David, 1 Sam. 15:10 – 18:9
- December 6: David in exile, 1 Sam. 21:1 – 28:2
- December 13: The mighty have fallen, 1 Sam 28:3 – 31:13
