Our Next Study on Peter: From Disciple to Apostle will be Thursday May 9,2019 at 7:30 p.m. in the library, where we will study Matthew 4:22-33 – “Just Get in the Water.” Peter was the disciple, when seeing Jesus walking across the water toward their boat, stepped out to walk towards him. His instinct was to get to where Jesus was.
Through various Scripture passages, we will walk alongside Simon the fisherman and his journey as a disciple of Jesus; through failure and triumph, to become the Rock, who we know as Peter the Apostle.
Above all else, Peter loved Christ! He was likeable, outgoing, strong, transparent and enthusiastic. He was also impulsive, insecure, fearful, and strong-willed. From the time he first met Jesus, to his Spirit-inspired sermon at Pentecost, we will find Peter’s spiritual journey to be a great inspiration to all of us as followers, fisherman and disciples of Jesus.
